Stock Market Investing Advice Everyones Needs To Know ? Finance ...

Many people avoid investing in the stock market because they think it?s confusing or complicated. Don?t be one of these people. Learn everything you can about how the stock market works so that you can make wise investments. Read the tips below to learn how to make money by investing in the stock market.

Day Trading

Keep it simple and don?t try to spread your investments in too many different areas. Trading too often can cost you fees or you may lose because you aren?t there when the long term profits pay off. Day trading is too risky, so always do your homework and invest in things that have stood the test of time and are reputable.

Avoid checking on your stocks every day. Making wise stock market investments not only requires company research, it also requires you to maintain a good degree of emotional distance. By nature, the stock market moves up and down. If you let yourself get caught up in every rise and fall, you will soon become emotionally exhausted. Additionally, investing for the long run will bring more rewards than short-term strategies or day trading, unless you are a very experienced stock trader.

Gold

One of the costliest mistakes that new traders make is looking at the stock market as a rainbow that has a big pot of gold at the end of it. Unfortunately, that is an unrealistic picture. Just like most endeavors in life, your going to experience success some days and failures on other days. The one thing you can control is how much you lose. Utilize tools like stop orders to help with risk management.

Mutual Funds

An early decision you must make is how you want to access to the stock market. If you want to be a passive trader and leave the management to an industry professional, mutual funds are good options that provide automatic portfolio diversficiation. If you are more of a do-it-yourselfer, then picking and trading your own stocks is possible too. Splitting your investment between both is a choice that some do as well.

Keep your objective and time horizon in mind when choosing your stocks. If you have many years left and are saving for a retirement decade away, invest aggressively. Look at small-cap growth stocks or related mutual funds. The percentage of your portfolio in the stock market should be as high as 80%, if this is your personal situation.

These suggestions should help you to become a more savvy investor. While there?s no guarantee you?ll become the next stock market mogul, a better understanding of investment basics will go a long way in making smart money decisions. Here?s hoping all your future investment choices will result in a healthy return!

Former Starbucks executive to be Best Buy digital chief

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Best Buy Co named former Starbucks Chief Information Officer Stephen Gillett as the head of its digital and global business services, effective March 14.

The news comes as the world's largest consumer electronics chain looks to find better ways to woo mobile and online shoppers, and tries to fend off rivals like Amazon.com .

In this newly created position, Gillett, 36, will oversee Best Buy's ecommerce businesses, information technologies and global shared services.

Gillett will also be in charge of Best Buy's digital strategy and marketing efforts, and finding new ways to "make technology a bigger part of the customer experience while enhancing operations and processes," the company said on Friday.

Gillett will report directly to Best Buy Chief Executive Brian Dunn.

In an interview ahead of the official announcement, Dunn said he saw Gillett accelerating Best Buy's transformation from best-in-class consumer electronics physical retailer to a multi-channel retailer.

Dunn expects Best Buy's online business to more than double in the next five years, and said the company was keen to build on the online sales growth seen during the past two quarters and in December.

"We want to build on that momentum and Stephen's track record makes it clear that he can help us engage customers online in ever more compelling ways," said Dunn.

Under Gillett's leadership, Starbucks decided to provide free Wi-Fi at all its U.S. outlets to boost customer traffic. He was also instrumental in helping Starbucks launch an in-store digital network with Yahoo , allowing customers to access local news, restaurant reviews and business news sites.

"The changing consumer is something you need to embrace," Gillett told Reuters. "There has been an elusive dream over the last 10 or 12 years for a company that can continually crack the code on physical and digital merging."

Gillett said that Best Buy was "well-positioned" to do just that. For starters, Best Buy plans to test mobile payments at some point, the executives said.

Polish woman saves babies with 75 days in labour

WARSAW (Reuters) - A Polish woman lay nearly upside down in labour for 75 days to save the lives of her two premature babies after the first of three foetuses growing inside her was born prematurely and died.

Joanna Krzysztonek eventually gave birth to baby girl Iga and boy Ignacy 2-1/2 months later on February 15 at a neo-natal clinic in the south-western Polish town of Wroclaw and said the idea of lying in an awkward position for weeks on end hadn't bothered her.

"I sighed with relief that there was a chance to keep the pregnancy and to give the babies a chance to be born successfully," she told Reuters.

The head of the Wroclaw obstetrics and neo-natal clinic where Krzysztonek gave birth, Mariusz Zimmer, said doctors managed to ease Krzysztonek's contractions, but considered her to be in labour from the birth of the first child.

"This procedure - I mean giving birth - has a beginning and an ending. If the first baby was born that means the birth had started," Zimmer said.

Human childbirth typically lasts between 8 and 12 hours, while a full-term pregnancy generally lasts around 40 weeks. With help from her awkward positioning and medical attention, Iga and Ignacy's term inside their mother was 32 weeks.

Iga and Ignacy remain in special incubators, but were expected to leave the hospital soon.

Their mum had problems with maintaining her balance after leaving her unusual hospital bed, but now visits and holds her babies every day.

Researchers capture first-ever images of atoms moving in a molecule

Ohio State University

COLUMBUS, Ohio Using a new ultrafast camera, researchers have recorded the first real-time image of two atoms vibrating in a molecule.

Key to the experiment, which appears in this week's issue of the journal Nature, is the researchers' use of the energy of a molecule's own electron as a kind of "flash bulb" to illuminate the molecular motion.

The team used ultrafast laser pulses to knock one electron out of its natural orbit in a molecule. The electron then fell back toward the molecule scattered off of it, analogous to the way a flash of light scatters around an object, or a water ripple scatters in a pond.

Principal investigator Louis DiMauro of Ohio State University said that the feat marks a first step toward not only observing chemical reactions, but also controlling them on an atomic scale.

"Through these experiments, we realized that we can control the quantum trajectory of the electron when it comes back to the molecule, by adjusting the laser that launches it," said DiMauro, who is a professor of physics at Ohio State. "The next step will be to see if we can steer the electron in just the right way to actually control a chemical reaction."

A standard technique for imaging a still object involves shooting the object with an electron beam bombarding it with millions of electrons per second. The researchers' new single-electron quantum approach allowed them to image rapid molecular motion, based on theoretical developments by the paper's coauthors at Kansas State University.

A technique called laser induced electron diffraction (LIED) is commonly used in surface science to study solid materials. Here, the researchers used it to study the movement of atoms in a single molecule.

The molecules they chose to study were simple ones: nitrogen, or N2, and oxygen, or O2. N2 and O2 are common atmospheric gases, and scientists already know every detail of their structure, so these two very basic molecules made a good test case for the LIED method.

In each case, the researchers hit the molecule with laser light pulses of 50 femtoseconds, or quadrillionths of a second. They were able to knock a single electron out of the outer shell of the molecule and detect the scattered signal of the electron as it re-collided with the molecule.

DiMauro and Ohio State postdoctoral researcher Cosmin Blaga likened the scattered electron signal to the diffraction pattern that light forms when it passes through slits. Given only the diffraction pattern, scientists can reconstruct the size and shape of the slits. In this case, given the diffraction pattern of the electron, the physicists reconstructed the size and shape of the molecule that is, the locations of the constituent atoms' nuclei.

The key, explained Blaga, is that during the brief span of time between when the electron is knocked out of the molecule and when it re-collides, the atoms in the molecules have moved. The LIED method can capture this movement, "similar to making a movie of the quantum world," he added.

Beyond its potential for controlling chemical reactions, the technique offers a new tool to study the structure and dynamics of matter, he said. "Ultimately, we want to really understand how chemical reactions take place. So, long-term, there would be applications in materials science and even chemical manufacturing."

"You could use this to study individual atoms," DiMauro added, "but the greater impact to science will come when we can study reactions between more complex molecules. Looking at two atoms that's a long way from studying a more interesting molecule like a protein."

###

Coauthors on the paper included Anthony DiChiara, Emily Sistrunk, Kaikai Zhang, Pierre Agostini, and Terry A. Miller of Ohio State; and C.D. Lin of Kansas State. Coauthor Junliang Xu pursued the theoretical side of this research to earn his doctorate at Kansas State, and will soon join DiMauro's lab as a postdoctoral researcher.

Funding came from the U.S. Department of Energy Basic Energy Sciences Program.

Real-World Solutions Of Jewelry Brands | Grow In Knowledge

There is a lot more to owning jewelry than being flashy and spending extravagant amounts of money. It can become your legacy and is a very good investment. You need to absorb all of the advice that you can, which will show you how to select quality jewelry and properly care for it.

You should carefully consider how to best care for your jewelry. Different metals, stones, and settings have different needs to ensure proper maintenance. What is beneficial to one stone or setting may hurt another. Consult with a jeweler if you are unsure exactly how to care for your own jewels.

If you are purchasing a necklace or pair of earrings that is made from genuine pearls, you should consider purchasing them as part of a set at the same time. Should you decide to purchase the matching pieces at a later time, you may have difficulty finding pearls that exactly match your original piece.

When it comes to showing off your personality through jewelry, most of the time you can make a larger statement with less. Choose bold, dramatic pieces, but limit yourself to wearing one or two at a time. A sophisticated pair of chandelier earrings can set off an outfit on it?s own, and sometimes a flashy cocktail ring is the only glitz you need to draw attention. Visit multiplayer games ? a closer look for up to date facts.

In fashion today, not everything has to be precisely matched. It?s a good idea to wear jewelry that coordinates or contrasts with your outfit. If you wear a string of yellow beads with a yellow blouse, the necklace gets lost. However, the same beads pop against the contrasting background of a white top.

Be sure to ask the person you are dealing with at the jewelry store if the gem you are trying to purchase has been treated in any way. A lot of times they are treated to make them look better and last longer, but that decreases the value of the gem.

When buying resale jewelry, remember that all that glitters may not always be gold! Find a way to get the quality of the jewelry checked, so you are not duped into believing something is worth more than it is. This will save you some heartache in the future if you are buying something you think is expensive and it turns out to be costume jewelry.

If you follow all of the handy advice that was given to you in this article you should have no problem when it comes to procuring jewelry. Do not over think things though, because that can lead to mistakes being made. Just remember what you learned and apply it to your sale.
